Since 1988, my passion is assisting you in pursuit of your financial goals. My goal is to help you feel confident about your plan. I work closely with clients and their families to help them successfully manage their financial assets overtime. Backed by the vast resources of Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network, I help clients build a portfolio to match their life styles and assist them with managing financial risk.

In 2003, I helped establish the Unruh & Unes Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors to further enhance my financial advisor capabilities and client service focus.

I am a graduate of Bradley University with a degree in Business Management. Prior to entering the financial field, I worked in the life insurance and retirement planning industry. In 1988, I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification by completing an approved education program, passing a rigorous examination, and meeting stringent experience requirements.

I joined Wells Fargo Advisors in 1994. Away from the office, I spend my spare time with my wife, Melissa and my children, Michael and Sydney in Peoria, IL and St. Petersburg, FL. My hobbies include restoring classic muscle cars and spending time on a golf course.

Phil has been guiding individuals and families through personal financial decisions since 1994. He began his career after earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and obtaining his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation the same year. While he no longer practices as a CPA, that foundation continues to inform his disciplined, detail-oriented approach to wealth management.

As a Managing Director – Investment Officer with Unruh & Unes Wealth Management Group, Phil draws on decades of experience to help clients make thoughtful, long-term financial decisions aligned with their goals.

Outside of the office, Phil is active in the Peoria community. He is a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, the Peoria Itoo Society, and coaches in the Junior Football League of Central Illinois. Most of his free time is spent with his wife, their six children, and their extended family in the Peoria area.

As a Financial Advisor with the Unruh & Unes Wealth Management Group, I am dedicated to helping my clients build, manage, preserve, and transition wealth. I have been assisting clients for over 13 years, and my team has a combined experience of over 72 years. My mission is to provide every client with targeted, comprehensive financial advice and portfolio management - delivered with the highest level of personal service and professional integrity.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Leadership with an emphasis in Finance from Bradley University. I have passed and maintain my FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and applicable insurance licenses.

Away from the office, I am an avid automotive enthusiast. I also enjoy golfing, mountain biking, working out, and spending time with my wife, Alejandra, family and friends.

Kelli Golden is a Client Associate, where she supports the team in handling the day-to-day needs of their clients. She prepares and maintains accounts, helps coordinate client service activities, and helps ensure that follow-through is timely and accurate. With over 16 years of experience in accounts receivable, customer service, and data analysis, Kelli brings a steady, detail-oriented approach to her role.
 
She takes pride in helping make sure no task is left unfinished and that every client interaction is handled with care. For Kelli, a good day at work means every request has been taken care of and clients know their accounts are taken care of.

Outside of work, Kelli enjoys DIY projects, being outdoors with her husband and two children, and staying involved in local youth sports. Her family supports and participates in their community’s athletics club, and she credits her parents for teaching her the value of hard work and follow-through, principles that continue to shape how she approaches her role today.

Kayla Tomlinson is a seasoned client associate with nearly 14 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry. With a strong background in banking, loan operations, and client support, she brings proven expertise in sales, customer service, and operational efficiency. Kayla supports clients by establishing and servicing accounts, preparing documentation, processing transactions, and resolving inquiries with a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach. Her excellent communication and organizational skills reflect a deep commitment to both client satisfaction and streamlined operations.

She is known for her organization, adaptability, and follow-through. Whether handling routine requests or addressing more complex issues, she works to ensure every detail is managed carefully and nothing is overlooked.

Originally from central Illinois, Kayla spent several years in Florida and Georgia before returning to the Peoria area in 2020. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, boating, and traveling with her husband and their two young children. Her family is active in the local youth sports community, often coaching and supporting hockey, soccer, and baseball teams.

Philip Unes Jr. is a Financial Advisor with the Unruh & Unes Wealth Management Group. Joining the firm in November 2025, he makes every effort to deliver consistent, comprehensive and tailored investment advice and is fully dedicated to meeting all his clients’ financial objectives.

Prior to joining the Unruh & Unes Wealth Management Group, he was an Investment Banking Associate and Investment Banking Analyst with the international investment bank, DC Advisory. While at DC Advisory, Philip closed M&A deals on both the sell-side and buy-side within the Healthcare sector.

In May 2022, Philip graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning a BS in Finance. He is a 2-time Chicago Marathon finisher, enjoys spending time with family and friends and never misses an Illinois Basketball game.
